How to Actually Prepare Punjab GK (Not Just Read About It)
20 May 2026
Punjab-specific general knowledge is one of the few sections that appears, in some form, across nearly every exam we prepare students for — Master Cadre, ETT Cadre, PSSSB posts and Punjab Police. It's also one of the easiest sections to under-prepare, because "General Knowledge" sounds vague and open-ended.
Break it into fixed categories
- Punjab history and geography — districts, rivers, the state's political history
- Punjab government schemes and current affairs — what's actually active this year, not last year's scheme
- Punjabi culture, literature and notable figures
- National current affairs with a Punjab angle — how national policy or events touch the state specifically
Why weekly beats last-minute
Current affairs is the one subject where cramming genuinely doesn't work as well as steady weekly coverage — a scheme announced eight months ago and one announced last week carry equal exam weight, and a last-week crash session structurally can't cover eight months of ground. That's the reasoning behind running current-affairs coverage as a standing weekly class through every course, not a bolt-on before the exam date.
