Master Cadre vs Lecturer Cadre: Which One Matches Your Qualification
15 July 2026
Master Cadre and Lecturer Cadre recruitment in Punjab often get confused because they cover the same subjects — English, Punjabi, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science — under similar-sounding names. The difference is the level you'd be teaching at, and that changes the eligibility.
Master Cadre
Master Cadre teachers are posted at the middle and secondary level. Typical eligibility is a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject plus a B.Ed.
Lecturer Cadre
Lecturer Cadre posts are at the senior secondary level. Eligibility requirements can differ from Master Cadre depending on the subject and the specific recruitment notification — always confirm against that cycle's official eligibility criteria rather than assuming it matches a previous year's.
What's common to both
Both exams test:
- Subject-specific content knowledge, in depth
- Teaching pedagogy for that subject
- General knowledge and current affairs
- Reasoning and mental ability
We run subject-wise batches for both cadres — English, Punjabi, Social Studies, and Maths & Science — each with its own dedicated faculty.
